My background was in music - not art. I graduated from Stanford University, married and had 6 children, before opening my own business as a florist. My first introduction to clay was through classes offered by Cassandra Light at her Way of the Doll school. I took her classes for 3 years and became an assistant at the school for 1 year.
While I lived in the San Francisco Bay Area my work was exhibited at Jack London Square, Oakland; shown through the Contra Costa County Library System; shown and sold from by open studio (Feet of Clay Sculpture Studio) in El Cerrito, and from my flower/gift/gallery shop in Kensington.
Eleven years ago I moved to Bodega Bay where I have participated in the Salmon Creek Art Walk, an Open Studio program for Salmon Creek artists and their guests; in Art at the Source, an open studio program for West Sonoma County sponsored by the Sebastopol Center for the Arts; and shown my work in Cloverdale, sponsored by the Sonoma County Library in Cloverdale. I have been part of juried shows at the Sebastopol Center for the Arts, and have had pieces on exhibit at the Graton Gallery, Graton; Local Color Gallery, Bodega Bay; the Sebastopol Gallery, Sebastopol, and the Quercia Gallery in Duncan's Mills.
I have a continuing love affair with clay and hope that my love of this art will resonate with the viewers.
